Therapy That Goes Beneath the Surface
You may be functioning well on the outside while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you can't seem to change. Maybe you’ve tried to understand yourself. Maybe you’ve read the books, done the reflecting, or spent years trying to respond differently. But understanding a pattern doesn’t always mean you know how to step out of it. Therapy can be a place to slow down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and create meaningful change from there. I offer integrative, depth-oriented psychotherapy for individuals throughout California, with particular attention to emotional patterns, relationships, anxiety, chronic stress, and the connection between psychological and bodily experience.
How I Work
There is no single approach that works for everyone. Our work begins with understanding you—your history, your relationships, your patterns, and what is happening in your life now. Depending on what you need, therapy may draw from:
Depth-oriented psychotherapy to explore underlying patterns, conflicts, and protective strategies
Somatic and nervous-system awareness to notice how emotional experiences are held and expressed in the body
Mindfulness and experiential practices to develop greater awareness and capacity to stay present
Cognitive and behavioral approaches when practical tools can help shift thoughts, behaviors, or emotional responses
Relational therapy to understand patterns that emerge in your relationships and develop new ways of connecting
Existential and meaning-oriented work when you are navigating questions of identity, purpose, choice, or major life transitions
The approach is flexible, but the underlying intention remains the same:
To understand what is happening beneath the surface so that change becomes more possible, more embodied, and more sustainable.
What We May Work Through
Therapy may be helpful if you are experiencing:
Anxiety, chronic stress, or feeling constantly “on”
Repetitive emotional or relationship patterns
Overthinking, self-doubt, or difficulty trusting yourself
Difficulty setting boundaries or expressing what you need
Emotional reactivity or difficulty regulating
Feeling disconnected from yourself or others
A gap between what you understand intellectually and how you actually live
Grief, loss, or significant life transitions
A desire to understand yourself more deeply and live with greater intention
You don't need to have a diagnosis or know exactly what's wrong to begin therapy. Sometimes, you simply know something isn't working anymore. That is enough to start.
What Sessions Are Like
Therapy is a collaborative process. Some sessions may involve slowing down and exploring an emotion, memory, relationship, or recurring pattern. Other times, we focus on something happening in your life right now and work toward a clearer, more grounded way of responding. We may pay attention to what you are thinking and feeling, as well as what is happening in your body. The goal isn't to analyze everything endlessly. It's to develop enough awareness that you have more choice in how you respond. Over time, this can mean recognizing your patterns sooner, trusting yourself more, relating differently, setting clearer boundaries, and responding to life from a more grounded place.
Format and Investment
I offer secure online therapy throughout California. Sessions are 53 minutes and are held via secure telehealth, allowing you to meet from the privacy and comfort of your own space. The fee is $155–$222 per session, with a sliding scale available based on financial circumstances. I am an out-of-network provider and can provide a superbill for potential insurance reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend checking with your insurance provider directly.
